FOOD AND DRINK

We do not need to run a restaurant because our neighbors have the best local Tico cuisine next door. Miriam’s Restaurant is famous for not just offering delicious food but from their terrace you can see several birds as well. So you will not miss birds there either!:-)

Breakfast is either a nice Costa Rican style filling typical Gallo Pinto ( = Rice and Beans) with some eggs, bred or fruits, bread and jam, eggs of your style, plus of course coffee or tea. At our Casa Chlorophonia Guesthouse you can make also coffee or tea, get some selected drinks which you can enjoy either in the garden or at the hides or in the covered terrace. If you are on a tour with us we take you to our favorite places for lunch and dinner where we know not just the food and drinks they offer but also what new species we can find for you there.

Costa Ricans use a lot of rice and black beans, which they call the "Gallo Pinto", which we can translate like Spotted Rooster..:-)
Gallo pinto is a dish which they eat any time and with anything, it can be for breakfast with eggs or can be for dinner as side dish with meat, chicken
or pork.
They also eat a lot of fruits since in Costa Rica there is so many good fruit products from bananas till papaya and mango and many more, all delicious! The covered terrace also has a sitting area where you can find books about Costa Rica and Costa Rican wildlife which you can read while you are here at us. Also from this sitting area you have a wonderful view on the hills, the Cerro de la Muerte in the distance and of course lot of birds at the flowery bushes and at the hidden feeders.

ENJOY YOUR STAY, THE INCREDIBLE SCENERY AND ATTRACTIVE BIRDS AT OUR LOVELY PLACE!
